NUCLEAR FUELS AND MATERIALS IRRADIATION EXPERIMENT ENGINEER

The Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking a Scientific staff member to work in the area of nuclear fuels and materials irradiation performance within the Nuclear Fuels and Materials Division. Chosen candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and analyzing irradiation experiments to be conducted in a variety of research and test reactors in order to evaluate the performance of advanced nuclear fuels and materials. Also, responsible for developing postirradiation examination plans, overseeing data collection, reduction and analysis of the performance data, and publication of results in internal reports and the open literature. Current fuel development programs at the INL include fuels for fast-spectrum reactors, gas-cooled reactors, research reactors, and commercial power reactors, and individuals are sought with background and experience in the performance issues associated with one or more of the following fuel types: metallic fuels, ceramic fuels, TRISO-coated particle fuels, research reactor fuels, and/or Light Water Reactors (LWR) fuels.
